About Elspeth
Elspeth is a classically trained actor from Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins, and a distinguished dialect coach. She learned her craft as a dialect coach from the preeminent and remarkable *Barbara Berkery at VoX Barbarae, with whom she has worked for many years. Elspeth combines Barbara Berkery’s world-renowned, erudite coaching approach along with her own notable training as an actor of method when teaching dialects.
This deep understanding of the entire experience empowers her to know the process actors go through to fully understand their character and embody their voice.
Elspeth has worked in many countries, along with living in Scotland, London, France, and now the U.S. Her global presence has deepened her understanding and experience of native dialects and tuned her ear into the idiosyncrasies of so many different voices. There is no training quite like living it. In addition to her life experiences, Elspeth’s ability to study dialect and universal sounds enables her to break down any accent at its core and provide coaching for all accents and dialects.
Over the past several years, Elspeth has perfected the craft of video voice and dialect coaching. Online coaching is now able to provide the very same level as face-to-face learning thanks to wide advancements in technology. In recent months, Elspeth has video-coached an entire movie that was shot in Scotland and has worked with actors all over the world, all while retaining her meticulous standards of detail and depth. This allows the actor to focus on their time and work rather than travel. You no longer have to live in the same town as a great coach to learn from them!
